Left Bank Books welcomes former Missouri Secretary of State and Let America Vote president Jason Kander, who will sign and discuss his new book, Outside the Wire: Ten Lessons I've Learned in Everyday Courage, with Missouri State Senator Jill Schupp!
Jason Kander is a former Army Captain and Afghanistan veteran who became the first millennial ever elected to statewide office. Today, he is the founder and president of Let America Vote—and a bold new presence in national politics. In Outside the Wire, Kander guides readers through his journey from Midwestern kid to soldier to politician, detailing with humor and intimacy the lessons he's learned along the way. Outside the Wire is smart and revealing political memoir from a rising star who Barack Obama has called the future of the Democratic Party, and a practical guide for engaging in public service, as told by someone who's lived it.
"Jason Kander is in the vanguard of a new generation of public servants working tirelessly to realize the promise of our country for every American. OUTSIDE THE WIRE vividly captures his experience, energy, ideas, and vision for the future of our democracy." —Senator Cory Booker
