I don't know why it took me so long to get around to reading this gorgeous, hopeful, inspiring book. The author is an indigenous woman, a poet and a botanist. Her eclectic wisdom filled my heart. Readers of Barbara Kingsolver and Wendell Berry will find much to savor in this beautiful meditation on what once was and could be again. - Kris

Red, White, & Royal Blue is a true gem of a book; such a delight to read. It has been a while since I was so utterly taken with a contemporary love story. McQuiston's writing is funny, powerful, and she does a great job of having a diverse group of characters, including people of color, LGBTQ characters, and lots of strong women. This book is such a breath of fresh air and a getaway from the real world's toxic political climate. I can't recommend this book enough.  - Shane

With eldritch layering of meanings and entrancing precision of language, it's like a cross-section of how it feels to exist within the violence of cisheteropatriarchy. A slicing — and suddenly writhing colors and shapes overwhelm the mind's eye, exposing a configuration too nebulous to describe outright — it's surreal to see something so elusive being documented, like taking a photo of the feeling that there is something else in the house when you are alone. - Bri

Yes, you can read an adult fantasy book with pictures! The illustrations are so kooky and whimsical they really add to the feeling of nostalgia you get while reading this book. It is so magical and creative, yet not childish. It will easily become a classic for me that I will read time and time again. - Baeyle

This book is honestly a life saver. For years I would be so frustrated with my art that I was on the verge of giving up. This book gave me a entirely different way to perceive my art. Betty Edwards uses scientific studies of the left and right hemispheres of the brain but, she explains it non-scientifically, and with different exercises to help. My entire approach to drawing has changed and it’s so refreshing. - Princess

This book is easily one of the best true crime books I have ever read. I'll Be Gone In The Dark is part true crime, part memoir, complete masterpiece. McNamara spent nearly a decade intricately researching and playing amateur detective trying to weave together 40 years of evidence in an herculean effort to discover the true identity of The Golden State killer. This is a tremendously well-written and compelling book, worthy of every bit of acclaim it's gotten. It is especially satisfying to know this man has finally been caught, and my only lingering disappointment stems from the fact that Michelle didn't live long enough to see it. - Amanda
