In Multitude, Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri describe possibilities for the diverse movements of protest and liberation around the world to thrive. Their position(s) of being one of the multitude differs from traditional models of being "the people" or "the workers," and environmentalist, or a progressive- and instead uses the term multiplicities acting in common while retaining the essential powers of their differences. "We are the poors" is a phrase resounding throughout the text of the new social and political territories of globalization. Evaluating contemporary conditions of poverty and perverse discrepancies in income, Hardt and Negri offer a helpful and hopeful overview for those seeking "the revelation of a common 'being' that is more powerful than their miserable 'having.'" (p.135)
