Ms. Hendley's kindgergarteners at Washington Montessori receive a new book for their personal library every other month through the Left Bank Books River City Readers program. Ms. Hendley's students have been thrilled with the books they've received through the program. Ms. Hendley says, "I just wanted to let you know that my students really, really enjoyed their book entitled We Are in A Book by Mo Williams. I think I've read it a least 5 times this week. You made an excellent selection!"
Ms. Hendley's kindergarteners also get to meet authors that Left Bank Books brings to their school. Last year, they met author and broadway star LaChanze when she toured for her picture book, Little Diva. This halloween the students had the opportunity to meet Rob Scotton, author of Scaredy Cat Splat, a purrfectly spooky book for October!
