April: Harry's Bar: The Original by Isabelle MacElhone
When: Thu., April 26th, 6:00PM
Where: Blood & Sand, 1500 St. Charles Street, Downtown (in the former Red Mood space)
The legendary bar that has served as a home away from home for Americans in Paris – including famous patrons like the Fitzgeralds, Hemingway, Marlene Dietrich, Quentin Tarantino and Morgan Freeman – recently turned 100. This book by owner Isabelle Mac Elhone celebrates the bar’s history by telling its story in both English and French, and illustrating the past through photos, caricatures, newspaper clippings, advertisements and more. The FEAST Book Club is celebrating the milestone by making the book its pick of the month in April and gathering at Blood & Sand for some tasty complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a special menu of cocktails created by TJ Vytlacil for the event.
